Activities Across Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford
In addition to essential services, Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford offers a variety of activities designed to keep people active, engaged, and socially connected. These include:
– Social clubs and coffee mornings
– Exercise and wellbeing classes
– Creative and hobby groups
– Community-based activities that provide opportunities to connect
These activities provide opportunities for older people to build friendships, stay active, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Community Hubs, Cafés and Charity Shop
As part of their work in the community, they also provide welcoming community hub spaces where people can come together, access support, and feel part of their local area.
Their cafés offer friendly, accessible places to meet others, enjoy a meal or a cup of tea, and reduce social isolation in a relaxed environment. Their charity shop plays an important role in supporting their services, helping to generate income while also offering affordable goods to the community. It also provides opportunities for volunteering and community involvement. Together, these spaces help create inclusive, supportive environments where people can stay connected and feel part of their community.

Charity Partner 2022 – 2023: South Kent Mind

Successful charity partnership between Leas Cliff Hall and South Kent Mind raises vital funds for
local mental health services

Every year Leas Cliff Hall selects a charity partner, and in 2022 the venue’s charity committee chose South Kent Mind for the financial year ahead.

Over the past 12 months, Leas Cliff Hall has raised money for this incredible charity by having a Halloween jewellery and trinket sale, bucket collections throughout our 2022 pantomime season, further bucket collections across a range of shows, and the use of The Channel Suite free of charge.

It has been an absolute pleasure to support South Kent Mind as our charity partner for 2022/23. We would like to thank our audiences for being so very supportive of our chosen charity and also thank South Kent Mind for their dedication and commitment to our local community.”
